2019 Ford Transit Connect new features and performance capabilities

Back in the day, it wasn’t uncommon to see large groups of people making their way around town in buses, emanating the large-scale mass transit capabilities of the time. To capitalize on these ideals for a new generation, Ford has unveiled its Transit Connect line for the all-new model year at the Chicago Auto Show. We’re excited to show you what it can do, so join us as we run through the 2019 Ford Transit Connect new features and performance capabilities!

2019 Ford Transit Connect engine specifications and performance

Part of the 2019 Transit Connect’s redesign has left it with an ultra-compact yet energetic engine under the hood. New for the coming model year is a 1.5-liter EcoBlue® diesel engine, which promises to achieve over 30 miles per gallon! Also, for those inclined to go the gasoline route, the Transit Connect will also feature a 2.0-liter Inline 4 engine.

Both available engines have some cool drivetrains to accompany them, as well; their power will be harnessed through an 8-speed automatic transmission, and gasoline-powered drives will be accented by Auto Start-Stop Technology as a standard feature!

2019 Ford Transit Connect interior styling and tech features

Inside, the Transit Connect will be available in two separate seating arrangements of five or seven passengers, to accompany the three trim levels it will come in (XL, XLT, and Titanium). All those who drive it will be kept connected without much effort either, as a 6.5-liter floating touchscreen serves as a home for the Transit Connect’s 4G LTE WiFi modem! This means that you can communicate, navigate, stream and download with lighting fast speeds wherever you’re headed.
